I understand what is involved in dealing with chronic pain and stress because I have suffered from it myself. Due to a cervical (neck) injury as a small child, I have suffered with migraine headaches since I was about 3 years old. After years of debilitating migraines that effected my day-to-day normal, routine, activities, I was determined to get control of my life and not let the pain control and affect the rest of my life. After countless doctor visits, being referred to specialists, having an MRI and having numerous prescriptions prescribed, with no avail, the pain was still there. Then one day a friend of mine suggested massage therapy for relief of my migraine headaches. I was 24 years old when I finally found relief and it was massage therapy that truly changed my life.
The focus of my practice is to help people who suffer from chronic pain, injuries, illness or stress. I can help clients restore balance by alleviating physical symptoms (such as pain and muscle tension), while allowing clients to release mental and emotional tension in a safe and professional environment. I know first hand that restoring and maintaining balance of body, mind and spirit is the key to whole health. So, to explain what does "Mind/Body" mean? This question is best answered by one of my favorite quotes:
"It is the mind itself which builds the body" ~ Friedrich Schiller
Pilates Bio
Tiffany is a Certified Pilates Instructor through PhysicalMind Institute. She received her instruction in Washington, D.C. at BodyCollege under the guidance of Mike Wright. After 2 years with her Mat Pilates Certification, she decided to further her knowledge of Pilates by receiving the Pilates Apparatus Certification. Her love, dedication and desire were instantaneous. Pilates gave her relief from chronic pain in her neck, due to osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease. With Pilates, Tiffany has experienced physical harmony and balance to her body; releasing tension, diminishing pain, giving her awareness of her body to help improve her posture, strength, flexibility and alignment. She knew Pilates would compliment her massage therapy clients, so they too could experience the same type of relief she did after only a few Pilates sessions. Tiffany has been a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist since 2003. After years of suffering with migraine headaches, she wanted to share with others the amazing results massage therapy gave her. Connecting body and mind; both massage therapy and Pilates have changed her life.
